xlog: User Guide

xlog is your private intimacy diary. It lets you keep a record of your intimate moments, see patterns in them over time, and, if you want, share parts of that with your partner. It also has games, challenges and small rituals that help couples talk, play and stay close.

Everything you write in xlog is private by default. Nothing is shared with anyone unless you choose to share it.

1. Getting started

Your account

You sign in with your username and password. Change your password at any time in Settings. In your profile you can add your name, email, date of birth and a profile photo.

App lock PIN

xlog locks itself when you leave it and asks for your personal 4–8 digit PIN when you come back. This keeps your diary safe if someone picks up your phone.

  • Choose how long you can be away before the PIN is asked again (30 to 120 seconds).
  • Lock the app yourself at any time with the lock button.
  • After five wrong PINs you are signed out on all your devices.
  • You can turn PIN protection off in Settings → Security (not recommended).

Linking with your partner

Many features are made for two. To use them, link your account with your partner's account: send a link request by username in Settings → Linked accounts. Once your partner accepts it, you can chat, share and play together.

Soft Start: the app grows with you

New accounts start simple, with the diary basics and a couple of games. As you use xlog, for example by logging moments, playing chat games or linking a partner, more features unlock step by step. Each time, a short pop-up explains what's new and how to use it. If you'd like to see everything at once, switch off Soft start in Settings → Features.

Install it like an app

On Android (Chrome) you can install xlog on your home screen. It then opens in its own window and can send you push notifications. Use the Install app button in Settings → Features.

Your dashboard

The dashboard is your home screen. It only shows what's waiting for you: unread messages, your partner's desire signal, a sealed mission, open confessions, today's challenge day, open tasks, this week's check-in. It also shows your next date or milestone, your lovecoin balance and your most recent diary entries.

2. Your diary

Events: the heart of xlog

An event is one diary entry for an intimate moment, either Sex or Solo. For each event you can record:

  • when it happened and how long it lasted
  • who was there and where it happened
  • which positions and practices came up
  • your mood before and after, your energy level and a star rating
  • orgasms, whether protection was used and who took the initiative
  • private notes and photos or videos
  • a ⭐ favourite mark for standout moments

Search and filter your events by text, type, partner, place, position, practice, rating, protection or date range. Your events are grouped by month, newest first.

Partners

Your private list of the people in your diary: nickname, pronouns, relationship type and status, the day you met, tags, notes, the date of your last STI test and a photo. Each partner page shows your shared history and statistics. If a partner also uses xlog, you can connect their entry to their account and decide what you share with them.

Places

Save the places where things happen, such as cities, homes and hotels, nested inside each other and pinned on a map. Places are used for diary entries and date planning.

Positions and practices

xlog comes with an illustrated catalogue of more than 140 positions and a sorted list of practices. You can add your own positions, practices and categories.

Favourites

All events you marked as favourites, in one place.

All your photos and videos in one place: from your diary, from chats, games, missions and your vault.

  • Scroll by month, choose a compact, comfortable or large layout, and open photos fullscreen with zoom and swipe.
  • Filter by partner, place, event type or date, or search captions.
  • Mark favourites, or archive items to hide them from your view without deleting them.
  • Select several items to favourite, share, add to an album, download as a .zip or archive them all at once.
  • Albums collect media. They are private, or shared with your partner, and then you can both add to them.
  • On this day shows photos from the same date in earlier years.
  • Your vault is a private store for photos and videos you want to use later, for example in a chat or a game.

Calendar and timeline (Journey)

Two ways to look back. The calendar (month, week or agenda view) shows events, milestones and planned dates on each day. The timeline tells your story as one scrolling feed of events, milestones and achievements.

Milestones

Anniversaries, first dates, moving in together and day-count milestones like 100 or 1,000 days. Some are created automatically, such as your 50th logged moment or yearly anniversaries. You can add your own, see countdowns to the next ones and browse past milestones under Memory lane.

Statistics

Your diary as charts: activity over time, type mix, activity heatmaps by day and time, weekday patterns, a map of your places, mood before and after, and your most frequent partners, positions, practices and places. The same filters as in the diary apply, and short notes point out patterns (for example your busiest day).

Monthly summary and insights

Once a month, a card on your dashboard sums up the past month: moments together, average rating, top partner and position, and favourites. Gentle hints let you know when you've been consistent. You can dismiss both or turn them off in Settings.

Mood diary

A private daily check-in for mood, energy and love, with tags and notes. It's never shared with your partner. Over time, the History & Patterns view shows your trends.

3. Connecting with your partner

Sharing diary entries

Share any event with your linked partner. You decide whether they see the full details and whether photos are included, and you can set a default per partner (always, ask or never). Your partner sees shared events under Shared with you, can add their own rating and notes, or copy the entry into their own diary. You can take a share back at any time.

Messages

Private, live chat with each linked partner, plus a separate thread for each planned date or shared event.

  • Text, mood pings, photos and videos, with an editor to crop and edit photos.
  • Media privacy: view once, view for a few seconds, a limited number of views, or a blur or scratch-off sticker your partner has to remove.
  • Spyglass and scratch-off reveals: cover a photo and let your partner pay lovecoins to scratch it free or look through a lens.
  • Emoji reactions, also placed directly on a photo.
  • Scheduled messages: write now, send later.
  • Sealed letters ("Open when…"): a letter that arrives sealed and can only be opened when something happens, for example when your partner is in bed, after your next time together, or after this week's check-in.
  • You can report a message that crosses a line.

Chat games

Small games you send in a chat as an interactive card: Coin Flip, Would You Rather, Scratch Ticket, Truth or Dare, Mystery Envelope, Slot Machine, Countdown Dare, Photo Roulette, Memory Match, Snapshot Challenge, Strip Reveal, Video Dare and Strip Poker. You set the prizes, which can be lovecoins, photos or dares. More games unlock as you play.

Desire Signal

A wordless way to tell your partner how you feel right now, such as "In the mood", "Touch-starved" or "Not tonight". It shows up on their screen right away and clears itself at the end of the day. If you both are "in the mood", the dashboard highlights it. A chart shows your signals over time and where they match.

Weekly check-ins

One short question per week for you and your partner. Your answers stay hidden until you've both answered, then they're revealed to both of you. Past weeks are collected as a timeline.

Confessions

You both answer the same prompt privately. Answers are only revealed once both of you have pressed Reveal, so nobody is put on the spot.

Our Routine

A shared checklist of small recurring things, daily or weekly. Whoever checks a task off first earns the lovecoins. It's fine if a day slips.

Planner

Plan dates in advance: title, date and time, place, reservation details and notes. Invite your partner, who can accept or decline, and plan the details in a chat right next to the date. You'll both get a reminder the day before. You can add the date to your calendar (.ics or Google Calendar). Afterwards, turn it into a diary entry with one tap.

4. Play together

Sparks (idea cards)

Find out what you're both curious about without putting each other on the spot. You each go through the same deck of idea cards on your own and answer Yes, curious, Maybe later or No, thanks. Your partner never sees your individual answers. Only cards you both said yes to become a shared spark. A match is an invitation to talk about it, nothing more.

Our List (bucket list)

A shared list of things you want to try or experience together. Shared sparks can be added automatically, and you can add your own items. Ticking items off earns lovecoins and badges such as "First Adventure" or "Adventure Duo".

Know Me Quiz

Questions about everyday life, intimacy and desires. Answer for yourself and guess how your partner will answer, then see how well you know each other in Results.

Challenges

Themed challenge calendars, for example about communication, touch, kissing or adventure, with one task per day. A day only moves on once both of you have marked it done. You can pause a challenge, quit it, or create your own.

Live Games

Games you play together in the same room, guided by the app on your phone. Agree on limits and a safeword first.

  • Mirror Questions: draw a question, answer it, swap.
  • Desire Map: mark what you'd like on a private body map, then compare together.
  • Sensation Bingo: a 5×5 grid of sensations; get a line or fill the whole card.
  • The Offering: each of you prepares secret offerings, then you take turns drawing and giving.
  • Strip Trivia: quiz questions decide who loses a piece of clothing.
  • Blindfold Oracle: one of you is blindfolded while the app secretly tells the other what to do.
  • Pleasure Grid: a 5×5 grid of acts that grow more intense tier by tier.
  • Scene Director: the app deals a setting, two roles and a small twist, and you improvise.
  • Command & Comply: take turns giving and following commands in timed rounds.

5. Lovecoins, tasks and rewards

Lovecoins

Lovecoins are xlog's playful currency between you and your partner. They have nothing to do with real money. You earn them by logging moments, answering check-ins, confessions and quiz questions, matching sparks, playing games, completing challenges and tasks, and simply by opening the app each day. You spend them in the shop, on chat games, missions and photo reveals. Your confirmed balance can be spent right away. Pending coins are still waiting for something, usually your partner confirming a task. The Lovecoins page shows your history and your balance over time.

Lucky Drop

Once a day a small surprise game is waiting for you, such as a coin toss, a scratch ticket or a wheel spin. Every Lucky Drop pays out between 10 and 500 lovecoins.

Tasks & Rewards

Give your partner tasks and pay them in lovecoins, for chores, favours or anything you agree on.

  • Optional due date, with an automatic expiry and a penalty if it isn't done in time.
  • Optional reward media, a photo or video that unlocks when the task is done, even as view-once.
  • Task bundles group several sub-tasks under one title.
  • Request coins: did something nice off the record? Ask your partner for a set amount.
  • Tasks are confirmed by the person who set them, or automatically if you allow it.

Missions

Secret challenges in a sealed envelope. Your partner only sees a short teaser on the outside. When they accept, the full mission is revealed: a task, a question or a photo mission. Completing it pays the lovecoin reward. If it's declined, you get your coins back. A mission gallery with templates gives you ideas.

Wish Jar

A shared jar of secret wishes that you both fill over time, as actions, photos, videos, fantasies or experiences in gentle, flirty or spicy tiers. The jar draws a wish at random for the person who didn't write it to fulfil, with a deadline and a reward. You can pass on a wish anonymously, and pause or archive the jar at any time.

Shop

A small shop where you pay with lovecoins only.

  • Your partner's listings: massages, date nights, little surprises, or photos and videos. Only linked partners can see them.
  • Sell your own: something done in real life, photos and videos sent after the sale, or media delivered instantly on purchase. Templates help you get started. You can also create mystery boxes and run time-limited discounts.
  • xlog Originals: special products offered by xlog itself.
  • Your coins are held safely until you confirm you've received what you bought. Cancelled orders are refunded in full. You can rate your purchases.

6. Privacy and discretion

  • Private by default: your diary, mood diary and notes are only yours. Your partner only sees what you actively share.
  • App lock PIN: see Getting started.
  • Quick cover: press Esc twice, tap with three fingers, or use the eye button to cover the whole app instantly. Press and hold to come back; you'll be asked for your PIN.
  • NSFW blur: sensitive photos stay blurred until you tap them.
  • Discreet notifications: by default, push notifications only say "You have a new notification", with no names or content.
  • You control sharing: for each partner you decide what is shared (always, ask first, or never), separately for details and for photos. Shares can be taken back at any time.
  • Sharing a phone? Logging out stops push notifications on that device.

7. Settings and personalisation

  • Profile: name, email, date of birth and profile photo.
  • Language and date and time format, set separately.
  • Appearance: colour scheme, and the four shortcuts shown in the mobile bottom bar.
  • Notifications: an in-app bell, push notifications per device with categories you choose (partner activity, messages, plans, missions, games, rewards), an optional daily summary by email or Discord (only when something is waiting for you).
  • Gallery and content: NSFW blur, default gallery layout, "On this day", and whether explicit content is allowed in Live Games.
  • Insights: turn monthly summaries and hints on or off.
  • Sealed letters: set your bedtime window for "Open when you're in bed" letters.
  • Soft start: unlock all features at once.
  • Security: change your password and PIN.
  • Product updates: read what's new in xlog.
  • Feedback: found a bug or have an idea? Send it from any page, with a screenshot if you like.
